Who IS this guy with the perfect teeth, Joel Osteen?

Is this guy just a liitle bit too Perfect? That's what I thought when I first saw him. I mean look at this guy- his great looking suits, beaming white smile, beautiful wife, postive attitude. What a total turn-off. Really, I actually thought oh man- look at this guy what next. Maybe it was my own inadequieces coming out there. Should it matter that this guy appears to have it all together? Granted MR. Osteen is pretty smooth and he was too much for me at first, but he won my over in just watching him a couple times.
I like listening to him now and have read his book " Your Best Life Now" I especially think that anyone can gain some good insights about having faith and speaking positively.
Joel Osteen, a native Houstonian, has committed his life to serving and helping every person, regardless of background and economic status, to achieve their fullest potential. Having started Lakewood's television ministry, Joel worked side-by-side with his father, Pastor John Osteen, for 17 years, and took Lakewood's positive message of hope to over 100 million households throughout the United States.
Joel Osteen has a very good message especially about how powerful the words that you speak are.

I know a bit about Dale Carnegie

Dale Carnegie was born in 1888 in Maryville, Missouri,he was a poor farmer's boy, the second son of James William and Amanda Elizabeth Carnegie. In his teens, though still having to get up at 4 a.m. every day to milk his parents' cows, he managed to get educated at the State Teacher's College in Warrensburg. His first job after college was selling correspondence courses to ranchers; then he moved on to selling bacon, soap and lard for Armour & Company. He was successful to the point of making his sales territory, southern Omaha, the national leader for the firm.
Perhaps one of Dale Carnegie’s most successful marketing moves was to change the spelling of his last name from “Carnegey” to Carnegie, at a time when Andrew Carnegie was a widely revered and recognized name.
Dale Carnegie went on to found and expand his training organization to the point where it has today reached millions of people worldwide. Some Famous Carnegie quotations can be found below.
Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain -- and most fools do.
- Dale Carnegie
Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.
- Dale Carnegie
Remember happiness doesn't depend upon who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think. - Dale Carnegie
If you want to win friends, make it a point to remember them. If you remember my name, you pay me a subtle compliment; you indicate that I have made an impression on you. Remember my name and you add to my feeling of importance.
- Dale Carnegie
Big shots are only little shots who kept on shooting.
- Dale Carnegie
Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.

Am I "really" as motivated as I thought?

I Had the stange feeling yesterday that I am not nearly as motivated as I thought. You know I have all these great ideas about all the things I want to do, and the things I want to have and somehow there was a place that thought that was pretty good- you know. But what does that mean? I wasn't really doing anything, progressing, moving forward. Yep, I had a BIG SLAP IN THE FACE yesterday.
In a short break from my non-acheiving state, I ran across a program about OPRAH. Have you ever heard of her, she has a TV show. I'll give you the condensed version. It was a program about her geneology. In short using the records they had, historical information, modern technology and DNA analysis they were able to trace her roots back to a specific local region in Africa and most probably the Capelle tribe,ok pretty amazing all by itself.
As it turns out, one of her great granfathers I think his name was Constantine owned 160 acres of land. This was in about 1870 just a few years after the civil war. How is it that a former negro slave that may not have been able to read or write find the means to own land?
You can imagine that he probably didn't have the CASH. So this is what he did. He
entered into an agreement with the landowner for the purchase of the land. In exchange, he would produce 3800 lbs of cotton. Keep in mind this is still before the invention of the cotton gin.
You have to pick it all with your hands. At the top of the plant there are barbs (like on a rose bush and they tend to go under your fingernails) you have to bend over constantly, and drag around the big bag of the stuff you picked. It's probably a bit WARM out there as well.
I don't know about you, but I think that's alot of cotton. Not sure exactly HOW he pulled that off, but he DID and then he did AGAIN and bought another 80 acres.
My hat's off to any person who can pull off something like that. Yesterday I thought I had motivation, but you know it's time to DO more.
It just so happens I ran across a book that decribes this very idea, so read on and see if this fits someone you know.
